What pup can convert vinyl to mp3?

Wanting to make cd or dvd of some LP records I have. I have Slacko 5.3 installed on a Dell gx270. Will 'Audacity' work on this version?

Short answer: probably not.

Even if you have the hardware you need (turntable, preamp, cables, and a soundcard which will take stereo input), you will need to install Audacity with all it's dependencies (some of which will need to be installed in parallel to packages you now have) because your Slackware is some 8 major releases out of date.

I think the op is using puppy slacko 5.3, not slackware 5.3, there is a audacity package here that is for the slacko series. I can't tell you if it will do what you want to do.

I never used slacko, but can confirm that audacity does a good job on both slackware and
debian for ripping vinyls (I'm converting mine to mp3s at a slow pace, using a USB turntable).

It's time consuming, and somewhat manual, but it works well.
