Question What program to use to format?

Hi, im planning to do the installation using the hard disk method. Which requires an extra FAT32 partition to store the installation files. Now, minux 1gb for ROOT and 200MB for swap. I am planning to preserve 500MB for the installation files. And after the installation i would like to merge the 500MB back to the /home drive. I want to use ReiserFS3 on all the drives. So my best guess is after the installation i would have to reformat the 500MB partition to ReiserFS3 and merge it with the /HOME partition.

I, however, have no clue which program to use in order to format a drive to ReiserFS3 format. Anyone wanna point me to the light?

if your distro doesn't have the reiserfs option during install (but does support it) you can use a live CD distro like knoppix to create the reiserfs partitions (ie mkfs.reiserfs /dev/hdX) before u do the actual installation. just don't format it again during the install process.
