What packages are necessary to run Eureqa native in Ubuntu?
Eureqa is a research tool that can be downloaded from cornell.edu. The last two releases are supposed to run under Linux but I have only been able to get the logo to appear. It runs well under Wine, but I have been unable to limit the process to just 4 cores. I know this is actually several problems but I think I could solve the rest if I could just install it native.
Any help would be appreciated. I'm new here so if this is the wrong place to ask information about where I should be asking would also be appreciated. |
I downloaded the Linux version and was able to run it with no problems whatsoever under Oneiric. If you only got the logo to appear, you must have got some errors - what were they?

Error message.
The error I recieved was
(formulize:4800): Gtk-CRITICAL **:IA__gtk_widget_style_get: assertion 'GTK_IS_WIDGET (widget)' failed |
Doing a search for that particular error brings up many applications affected similarly - apparently it's something to do with qtconfig theme. For those applications changing qtconfig theme to motif helped.
