RHEL6.4
and buy the support contract
or wing it your self and use CentOS 6.4

yup, john vv hit the nail on the head. pay for the support and go with RHEL, id wait until later this year for RHEL7 to go live. much newer kernel (3.10 or 3.11 they have not fully settled on that yet) and systemd is so much better then sysV.

Also RHEL has a cluster add-on i guess is a good way to call it you can purchase support and license for.

First of all you need to decide what you mean by cluster, generally this comes down to High Availability, Load Balancing, Database Cluster or Computing Cluster.

Once you've worked out what you really want then there are plenty of tutorials online for the various flavours.

If you're looking for an OS recommendation then the ones that have been given - RHEl / CentOS are the very good options as they are effectively the same so any how-to you find for one is relevant to the other.

I agree that one would need to define the use of a "cluster" to include the systems available and maybe the networking ability and the ultimate work or tasks that would be used.

My common answer might even be Rocks cluster in linux or as noted RH products or Suse or even Solaris.
