What modem to buy? (UK)

Hey all,

Just wondering what modems you all use? I want to get a new one, that is not a stupid winmodem, so it'll be a lot easier. I just want a decent modem, that I don't have to emss around with so I can get into using Linux a lot better.

Anyway, what modem would you recommend I get (preferably cheap, and available in the UK!).

Cheers! :newbie:

Buy external, and buy SPECIALLY the one that says, LINUX COMPATIBLE (Hint:wink, wink), ok?...oh yeah, don't buy USB, ok too?, get serial, ;), follow advice and suffer not.

Any modem that's not a win modem should work, a least
thats been my experience over the last 7 years.

dabs.com have a Dabs Value serial modem for £25 which is actually a v.92 upgradable Intel Ambient 56k. I've used it for about a year in Linux and it works great. :)
