what live distro is the best for graphic and sound hardware recognition & auto setup?

hello,
I have a USB with choice menu for different distro
- knoppix
- archbang
- tinycore vesa
- puppy
It help me to achieve an immediate experience with a good immediate hardware recognition (by choosing the different distro). In that case, I can see which modules are loaded and then later I can implement quicker the target distro which setup is based on the setups recognized by one of the distros.

Question: which other distro should be part of that USB?

mint ubuntu ?

Mint works flawlessly here. Everything works right out of the box :) Definately a distro to put on your USB stick.

OpenSUSE has worked better out of the box than any Ubuntu or Mint version I've tried on various hardware.

I could not find a liveCD ISO from OpenSUSE with Openbox. The available KDE and GNOME ISO will certainly overload the processor of "old" PC. Where to find it? (Im still searching)

Debian Live non-free

I'd give aptosid/siducation Xfce/Lxde/razor Qt (depending on target system specs and personal preference) a try.

Debian sid based so they should have very current drivers.

I think they only have live CDs for Gnome and KDE, however I believe Openbox is in the standard repo, and might be available on the live DVD as well. You might also be able to build your own with Openbox:

suse studio?
It seems to be a pain: I could not do anything since two days..
So if somebody can create a CD Live Suse OpenBox (toolkit CD) without games/mail/office but typically for a boot and install procedure, and post the result anywhere, I would be happy.
I am loosing my patience with my first Suse try.
