what linux is most like OSX


Hi,

I really like using OSX and was wondering if any linux distributions were similar thanks !

MacOSX is most similar to BSD.

Hi-
I assume that you're a fellow mac OS X user. I found that a lot of things in linux are quite similar in concept to OS X (or is it the other way around?).

I recently installed fedora FC4 to an old dell computer my wife discarded, and have been having fun trying to learn to set it up as a server.

If you want to install linux on your mac, you need to download ppc iso's and burn them to disc--the i-386 iso's won't run on a mac.

Mac OS X is unix like OS just like linux so maybe you should be looking more at the desktop GUI rather than the distribution. I don't use gnome but it does provide the top menu bar that Mac uses.
