what is wrong with the swap
hi there I have a problem with my pc When ever I boot my Pc the space allocated for the swap partition is 0. I tried swapon -a and the space for the partition is allocated but when I reboot the same problem is there.
|
is the swap partition listed in
/etc/fstab ?? |
yes the file name is in the etc/fstab file
|
I would think that swapon -a would fail if there wasn't an entry in the fstab file.
Post your fstab file Check the output of dmesg pertaining to swap? dmesg | grep swap You might glance at the entire output too. |
do u think mounting the partion will do what commands will work
|
You can not mount a swap partiton like a regular filesystem.
And what about my previous questions. |
I tried ur solution but it just shows me starting and nothing happens This is my first question so Iam prety new to the site please give me some time to get the hang of it.
