What is wrong with the 'Search' Function?
 

Hi Folks,

I am trying to find out how to FTP to my Server. But, no matter what I type in I get the error message that my search term is less than 3 words and needs to be more specific.

I tried 'How to FTP to a linux server' and 'FTP* to a linux server'.

Both are more than 3 words.

no, read the message correctly:i.e. the word "to" is too short.

btw, your question makes little sense to me. ftp to a server? that's nothing to do with the server is it? that's the client's problem...

Now, I remember why I quit using LinuxQuestions.org. The search function is really weird and I get non-helpful responses such as this.

No, i think you'll find the correct response would be something like "hmm, yeah you're right, it is pretty confusing wording though... you'd have thought it'd just filter out those invalid words like google does. thanks."

Yes, they are more than three words, but it's the minimum word length, as acid_kewpie said. Please try taking out the two to's and the a out of your search term, as suggested by LQ's search engine.

May I suggest you lay off the intoxicants? And try again tomorrow, perhaps all will be clearer :)
