What is the file manager executable called

Hi there,

I am trying to set up a short cut for the file manager, but can't find. Where is it or what is the file name of the executable called.

Kind regards
iFunc

There are a plethora of file managers used in Linux. Do you know what yours is called when you're running it? If not, what is your distro/flavour?

yeah it all depends on the name of the file manager
look in /usr/bin
for all of your executables

In the file manager window, look at Help -> About. If that doesn't give you enough of a clue (sometimes it's not the name of the executable), post what name is shown and someone will be able to help.

hi Guys,

Thanks for your help, all useful information there, I didn't know there were so many of these. I am running a raspberry pi with Raspbian Jessie and the File manager is "PCManFM". I eventually found it by looking in the lxpanel config file as it is on the task bar, but clicking on about showed it up also.

Thanks again.
