What is the difference...?

I was wondering what is the difference between Mandrake 10 Community and Mandrake 10 Official. Do any of you guys know?

isn't it the same thing ?
i mean mandrake 10 community is the official release ?
i know i don't use mandrake but thats what i grasp from it all..
i dont' see any mention of a "mandrake official" on mandrakelinux.com

i know of powerpack, corporate server, etc, etc ...
but never heard mention of a release called official ?

by all means i may be wrong, but i think they are essentially the same thing...

I believe that Community 10.0 is mandrakes three month 'Community' bug hunt before they release their final Official version in May.

The way I read it on the site being a don't really read. It appears that the Official will be released in May.

I'm just wondering if I should download 9.2 and attempt to upgrade the kernel and KDE.

Not sure if I want to go there or not.

According to MandrakeSoft, Community edition is to find bugs - like the problem with LG cdroms in 9.2, which became known after 9.2 was released. Official release will have the same programs as Community, but with many things fixed.
I don't know if you like experiments, ralexand88. If you do, get 10 and try it. But you can also wait a week or two and see how it works for other people and then decide. Or ust wait for Official.
