What is the best file system for shaing?

I have Dual boot XP / Red Hat 8 system.

XP is on NTFS, how should I format the partition for sharing / storing files. Can Linux read and write to Fat 32 and NTFS?

FAT: yes
NTFS: experimental, not recommended

Cheers,

i only used linux for 5 days, and i believe that fat32 is the best from all i read - read/write stable without DLing additional drivers? kernels? as ntfs requires.
