what is the best codec/player for watching flv. files on Linux?

I have recently installed Yellow dog 6.1 linux onto my Sony PS3.

I want to be able to view flv. files.

Which player or codec is the best to view this format on linux.

Movie player will not currently play this format.

Thank You

I don't know what "movie" player is.

But mplayer does support it, as ffmpeg does. If you don't want a command line player, there are lots of frontends to mplayer: kmplayer, kplayer, smplayer, Xt7 and many others.

By "Movie Player" I assume you mean Red Hat's name for Totem. This program will play flv's--you just need to get the right plugins. You will need to enable an external repository (RPMFusion etc) and get

gstreamer-plugins-bad
gstreamer-plugins-bad-extras
gstreamer-plugins-ugly

But I will have to second that for xine.
