What is th latest version of linux device driver book by Greg Kroah-Hartman ?

Hi,

I want to buy the book linux device driver 3rd ,but having some doubt about what to buy because it is old one as it published in the year 2005 and based upon 2.6 kernel but 3.0 kernel released now a days.
so kindly tell me is there any new version coming or I will buy this book.As I do not have much idea on linux device driver so any can tell me what is the fact ,whether I have to buy or I have to wait for new version.

or is there any changes in the device driver of 2.6 and 3.0 or both are same and I can read the book,If so then I will buy this.

Thanks

I don't believe there are any real differences here. 3.0 was mostly Linus getting annoyed by the versioning system, and it was not like the very significant module changes between 2.4 and 2.6 despite the larger number gap.

Hi,acid_kewpie
Thanks for the reply ,I am new to this so I have some doubt regarding that so as you told there is no much difference between 2.6 and 3.0 means I can read the book..

One more thing is when Its 4th edition will available ? any idea is appreciated..
Thanks

I remember that being first published and I wouldn't have guessed that it was that long ago!

In any case, it might be worth looking here before you buy anything.
