What is expected to make Linux like windows ! Avinash

I notice a lot of people saying that linux is good and its the best around in OS for stability and 99 % of the ppl saying so keep using windows ! I have started to make an LFS system and I would like to make it like windows in usabilty ! Example a graphical booting with no text msgs and no confusing device errors etc .. I would also like to XPDE as a window manager !

The request is :

I would like to know what are the softwares a minimal user would require ! Like word processing and a calc app Etc .

Plz reply with details on the apps required so It remains stable fast and very easy to use for newbies to linux ! I will also give options for it expert ppl too ...

Do ppl need windows like interface ?

I feel there would be something less for ppl to learn as the usabilty is very important ! u are familiar with windows weather u like it or not ! So why not linux look and feel the same but under the hood it as powerful as a Sedan ...

Your comments expected and everyone is welcome to join the project !

cuz its linux customized to every bodys taste !

why would you want to make linux like windows? For that there is windows...

as for easy linux distros, there are Mandrake, RedHat, SuSE which are all easy to install and use.

well, hmm, i have seen something about a kernel patch that allows a graphical bootup instead of the normal one...
yes, the linux progress patch
