What is /dev/console


I know console is output device but please provide meaning of /dev/console

What is the purpose of /dev/console path? I'm learning how to write device drivers? I want to have some understanding of /dev/console

/dev/console is the system console. It is where boot and kernel messages are
displayed which is typically assigned to /dev/tty0.
