What is *nix interface

I am totally new to Linux and I have come accross *nix interface.

What is it? I tried a google search and it yielded me another OS command line interface.

Any help is appreciated.

do you mean "what does *nix mean?" ?

*nix is a generic slang term for any form of unix-like oss.

AFAIK it stems from some silly superstition similar to The Scottish Play, if you're familiar with that..
