I have recently installed SUSE 10.0 from DVD and am trying to get to grips with it. I am totally confused about what installation sources I should have listed in YAST and would appreciate some help. I tried adding the following:
download.opensuse.org/distribution/SL-10.0-OSS/inst-source/
and simply get an error:
Unable to create an installation source from URL.....
ERROR(InstSrc:E_no_instrc_on_media)

Use yast2>software > community repositories to choose repositories you like to have
One suggestion
1)open suse 10.3-OSS kde4 10.3
2)open suse 10.3
3 Nvidia or you,re graphic
4)Kde:kde4 stable desktop
5)MAin repositories (Non OSS0
6)Main OSS
7)open suse 103 update
Of course do use all the things mention above
Thanks for reply but I don't have any link to community repositories. As far as I understand it, I need to add repositories through the Installation Source option but I don't know the URL's of these repositories.

Is yast2 working or not ?
Can you find in yast2>option software yes or no ?
Do you have internet yes or no ?
If you do have internet suse make contact which the the server.
Hi Ronlau9,
Yes, YAST is working and I have a Software option with a further option, Installation Source. This is where I can manually add sources for updates.I do have an internet connection. Could it be that Suse 10.0 is no longer being updated and this is why I am struggling? Perhaps you are right and I should upgrade but how do I go about this? Thanks, Simon

I always prefer a clean install
Backup first you,re data it is even possible when you go for suse 11 that she leaves suse 10 in place.
Yes I agree suse 10 is not supported anymore , but mostly the previous updates are still on line.
