What do others think of the new Linspire Program?

Hello Folks. I am a brand new Newbie although I am not very young bening a young 68 years old. I am just now starting to switch over to Linux and it's never to late to learn, lol. I would like to know though what others think of the new program called Linspire? I even bought the book that goes with it to make sure that I use it to it's fullest. So, I am sure that I will be having a lot of questions in the up coming weeks. Please bear with me and if I start getting overbearing just let me know. Thanks,
Goat

PS I do like my computer gaming particularly 1st person shooters (BF2 Special Forces etc.)How will Linux effect this?

Well, goat; I am nipping at your heels---we are of the generation that: knows what a vacuum tube is (maybe even collected them in HS); Knows what a chalk board is; Knows what a key punch is---and maybe has used one to write Fortran; AND actually wrote a paper in college on core memory. (AS in: "dump core-reload")

Linspire is not new--been around for quite some time. Walmart sells maybe the cheapest desktops in the US with Linspire pre-installed.

There are few fundamental differences in Linux distributions--each has some unique features, but they all can be re-configured to meet your needs.

Semantic nit: Linspire is not a "program"---it is a collection of programs--inclduing the Linux kernel--that has come to be called a "distribution" or "distro".
