Live in SC travel to NJ ...would like to buy a laptop to be able to pay bills on line, and retrieve my email while away...
Besides the laptop, what do I need? I want to have SOME knowledge before I go shopping so the sales person wont sell me more that I need...would like to beable to access my document file while away also...I do not know any lingo that is used about platforms, servers, etc. I am sorry to say, Im a dummie at this.
The requirement you list are pretty much bottom of the line basic functionality. You can pick up an under $400 (new) laptop that will do much more than you need. If you'd like something small and easily portable with Linux pre-installed, check out the new ASUS EeePC.
Im sorry, I thought this was just a site to ask questions...I did not realize Linux is something particular. I will look further and find just a question and answer site. Sorry if I offened anyone.
