what distro is suitable for Compaq Presario CQ50-107NR Notebook with AMD Athlon Dual-core QL60 1.90 GHz 2.0 Gb Memory, 32-bit

What Linux distro is suitable for Compaq Presario CQ50-107NR Notebook with AMD Athlon Dual-core QL60 1.90 GHz? Memory is 2.0 Gb, It's a 32-bit machine.
My particular concern is the speed of the Athlon processor chip.
I was thinking of running Lubuntu 16.10 from a USB stick. But I don't understand the posted chip-speed requirements.

They say "The minimum specification for CPU is Pentium 4 or Pentium M or AMD K8. Older processors are too slow and the AMD K7 has problems with Flash video."

How do I know my chip meets that requirement?
Thanks

Run a live session run. Then you will have personal experience on what is best for you. I see no problem with trying lubuntu in a live USB run,

Is my chip too lame?

Great - just wanted to make sure I wouldn't blow up my computer. And notebookcheck.com implies my chip is probably suitable. Now just to live long enough for the download.
Thanks

Hi.

Have you run GNU\Linux long enough to get a favorite?

Mine is one many are built from Debian (particularly Sid https://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/u...ding-firmware/ muchness:D) but most are "free" to try eg: https://distrowatch.com/search.php?o...&status=Active

...have fun! :hattip:

It might run a 32-bit OS, but it's a 64-bit system, the the Athlon 64 X2 QL60 is a 64-bit processor

K7 is the original Athlon-Athlon XP. You have a K8-based processor.

If you're new... starting with anything that ends in *buntu is pretty smart, IMO. Also, as mentioned... you have a 64bit CPU. Honestly though, since you're not running more than 3.5gigs of RAM.. It probably won't make much difference w/ that cpu whether you run 32 or 64bit.

Lubuntu should run pretty well on that machine.

after surviving the wait on that. To pre-identify gremlins from a corrupted iso download.

You better live long enough to do a md5sum check of your downloaded Lubuntu iso to keep from feeling newbie grief later on. Because something could have gone wrong during the download process.

Oh yeah: If needing a Windows md5sum checker. I like the
