what distro is availble with nforce 3 in it
 

fellas what distro is out there that is available with nforce 3 drivers in it.
i guess primarily nforce networking drivers.

i have the suse 9.2 amd64 live cd and it has them but 9.2 x86 dont. the x86 see's it when the system loads but it wont get an IP and then in YaST it dont see a network adapter.

i'd REALLY LOVE to get an AMD64 version that i can download and burn to CD that is not old school red had style something more user friendly like the latest rounds of suse. or mandrake. something that installs easy and is not so hardcore command line driven.

but i cant find any of the amd64 versions for download,, only the live cd's.

i was VERY impressed with the amd64 suse live cd,, its the fastest live cd version ive seen yet.


can anyone point me in the right direction. and not bit torrent either please, i dont want to sit for a month trying to downlaod a dvd version or 3+ cd's.

btw ill take dvd or cd versions.

i think the suse ftp or a mirror had the raw files but i really dont know how to burn a bootable linux iso,, ive tried before and its never worked for me.
i can burn other stuff bootable lol and my burning skills are 2nd to none but for some reason grr its just linux.

also is there a distro that support SATA Raid like a promise Fastrak s150 TX2 card ? last time i had it installed it see's the card but i dont recall if it saw the raid.
i know on the nvidia raid it see's my raptors,, and it see's the partitions but it lists them as individual drives,, not raid.

i got Mandrake 10 64bit but its not seeing the Promise Fastrak S150 tX2 SATA raid controller as raid. it see's them as seperate drives.
the only thing to see the setup as raid is suse 9.2 amd64. it gives its usual warning that it sees a raid setup but its only software raid. then when you look at the drives sda and sdb it see's the raid partitions on sda1 and sda2 . now the question is, will it see those partitions as raid and it simply shows them as seperate drives or does it truly not read sata raid, it knows its there but cant read it.

man i wish there was a way to nest this suse 64 cuz i cant find it anywhere, of course not though cuz its not a free linux. atleast not that i can find. only the personal is. which isnt 64bit.
cuz those of you who have used it know its fast. right now running from the cd its faster than my XP or atleast as fast. but thats cuz its in ram not the hd. plus it see's the nvidia netowrk controller. im using it now and typing here.

so.... im left with what options fellas. i hear 9.2 is poop and as far as i can tell since it wont even see the nvidia NIC then i must agree. does 9.1 see the nvidia stuff ? and will it see the promise TX2 sata raid ? or will i be forever doomed to never use linux on sata raid.

Kanotix http://kanotix.com/info/index.php is a liveCD based on debian and optimized for a hd install. When you install on hd, there is script available http://kanotix.com/files/kernel/ for a kernel upgrade for AMD64.

nah i dont need to be recompiling kernels and stuff.
thats buggy at best especially when your talking about converting 32bit to 64bit. and then the reboot, if you say a long prayer it might reboot.
not to mention these not so friendly distro's like debian and gentoo and others.

i need a straight up distro that supports SATA RAID and the nvidia chipset and nvidia network adapter.

it still amazes me that sata raid is not seen by most linux distro's my promise tx2 s150 card has been out long enough,, there are 9.0 and 9.1 suse drivers on promise.com and also 8, and 9 mandrake. and even redhat i believe.

but nothing for suse 9.2 or mandrake 10 (i didnt get into installing mandrake 10 64bit cuz when i booted it say the sata drives as 2 drives not 1 and thats just nuts.)

how long we gunna have to wait for sata raid to be supported i mean its only been out for 3 years.
