What can I do to find out if my NIC card is compatible with Linux?
 
I had MS Vista as my previous os and now I have Linux, I am having problems with my NIC card. What can I do to esolve my NIC card issues?

No point of saying that i am having problem with NIC because other dont know what problem exist on your NIC. so let them know clearly, specifically what is the problem that you are facing
1. is there any errors?
2. is NIC not detected on your system?

What NIC card and what problems?

try the command
/sbin/lspci
look through the output for anything that looks like it is related to your NIC card or to Ethernet and copy those lines into a post here. That ought to give us an idea of what NIC card. We'll still need details on the symptoms.

Linux can use nic's in one of a few ways. One is it works because support was built in by whoever made the distro. (telling us would help) Second is you find an suitable driver and load it. Third is to use ndiswrapper for installing windows drivers in linux.
