1-No problem of malware or virus
2- fast os in comprison of Windows
3- easily compatible with hardware
4- more security fetures due to CLI
5- open source as well as not crash easily like Windows.

i hope that will be enough to explain the things.

more benefit from linux: easily customizable from the tip to the toe

I like that there are no restrictions, licenses, fees, etc. There fore you get your computer doing everything.
I know there are some close source games that wont work in Linux, well fine just don't play those games and choose to play Open source games they are fun too case solved.

If you are new to Linux I heard Linux Mint and Ubuntu are really good as introductory distros.

*blinks* Of course there is licences and restrictions. Check the GPL, BSD and other common licences for software in linux distros.

I am aware of these licenses but they work for me and the way I use my computer. They might affect my work if I were a developer, which I am not. So I am o.k. with the terms of use.

Linux might not be free of malware attacks, however the attacks are far less than in a windows and Mac platforms.

And another nice thing I didn't mentioned about Linux is all the eyes candies available if you are into that kind of thing. I mean Linux has some beautiful and handsome desktop manager the best that money can buy.
Also available minimalist Graphical interface for computer that otherwise would be ready for the landfill.
