can anybody plz throw some light on what are "linker scripts"
and where they are actually used
thanx
some references, links or docs would be really appreciated
thanx
Linker scripts are used by the linker (ld) to modify how the executable file is generated from the object files. Some of the things you can do with linker scripts include defining the location of the code and data "segments" in the processes address space, define symbols, and change the format of the final executable.
Here are some documents on linker scripts: http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/e...r/scripts.html http://www.nacad.ufrj.br/sgi/860-024...r_scripts.html
