What about media formats?
Hi there everyone,
i finally know how it feels to be a n00b. that really sucks indeed because you have no other choice but to rely on other people for stupids stuff all the people has already understood ;) anyway here's my problem. I installed Kubunto 6.X on my mom's computer (for she can't install anything and screw the whole thing - and i wanted her to test the OS). Many compromises later, she figured that mostly all emails she recieved with attachements were video and music and was very sad that she couldn't read 'em. I tried some video and music format...but mp3 were not readable :( . i realise taht .wmv are not meant to be read and .mov are not readable ither. Is there like a media package that come for all those format i can't read... thanks |
A quick google search tells me that you could try downloading the w32codecs:
sudo apt-get install w32codecs More detailed info can be found on: http://ubuntuguide.org/ But I can't test this myself (don't use (k)ubuntu), so you'll need to try it out. If that doesn't help, maybe you can search the Software forum on LQ. |
