if you can read you can run slack. this also helps. as does this and most certainly that .

amen to that. I wouldn't recommend slackware to a first time linux user. As i see it, if i hadn't started out using mandrake in 2001, and just started with slackware, i would be using windows xp right now. But i used mandrake and redhat and fedora and all of the "easy" distros which helped me to figure things out in slackware.

so to some it up,

first distro=mandrake/suse

3rd/4th/5th distro=slackware or maybe debian.
