Weird Problem upon bootup
I just switched from KDE to Gnome last week and sometimes (Only sometimes) the Mounting Local File Systems hangs forever upon bootup.
It has not done it before on KDE. Its been happening 3 times already. Then I always have to reboot and it all seems OK after.

I just can't seem to beleive that nobody knows this.
And I even never made any partition changes either since I made the change to Gnome.

Please don't excessively bump your post. Unfortunately, the error you gave doesn't tell us which file system it's hanging on, can you go back through your logs and see if you can determine which filesystem it's hanging on and any other errors reported? You say it only happens some of the time -- is it perhaps after an unclean shut down and it's just fscking your file systemns (which can take quite awhile if you're using a non-journaled filesystem).

Where are these logs located in? Now Im on KDE and did some tests.
I swiyched to KDE and then turned off the PC for 1 minute or so and then turned it on again and did not hang.
But where are these logs located so I could post them here.

Check /var/log/messages -- please look through it and try to pick out the relevant sections to post here, as it's quite long -- it's somewhat odd that it only happens on some boots.

Does it have to do with the switch between KDE and GNOME? Or it has nothing to do with that?

The problem is, I dont know where to look at. Its the Mounting Local File systems on Boot up. Thats hangs.
