Weird error message

After the login screen, I get a window that tells me that dhcppc5's address could not be found and that i should please enter in /etc/hosts to fix it otherwise GNOME will not operate correctly. How do I fix this? It really isn't disrupting any GNOME functionality, but I would still like to remedy it to avoid the screen.

You don't say what distrobution you are using.

This problem is kind of new to me, so I did a search for 'dhcppc5' and found a discussion on Mandrake Linux Archives that I think may apply.

Hope this helps,

yea sorry about that, I really do need to include it in my signature since I'll be a newbie for life. Anyway, I'm using fedora core 3, and I think I found the solution on these forums already. Thanks.
