Weird Characters in terminal
when I view man pages and web pages (and probably other things) weird characters popup like A a with a ^ above it that is before a copyright symbol,
GNOME terminal doesn't have this problem though so I couldn't take a screenshot this annoys me because i like to use the commandline without a Xserver running because my computer is weak(sorry about all those becauses there, I hope my post is readable, and I know I'm not very detailed but I think it might be because it can't display those characters or something) oh yeah the distro is Ubuntu |
What terminal app?

i don't know, the one thats on your screen while X isn't running, xterm might do the same but I don't have it installed right now

The only thing I can think of is the fonts.You may to enable options for framebuffer console.Here is a pretty good guide,down about half way;
