webdeveloper questions.

hello, I am using fc5 and I am not all that sure how to use yum or anything like that yet. I am not even all that sure how to unpack file or anything like that either. I was wondering if there are any web development tools that I can use in fc5. In windows I was using dreamweaver and flash. Are there any programs that allow me to make flash files and create websites visually?

I need a way to design tables and let the rows and colums have their own background images.

can anyone please help?

thanks
~chris

http://www.swftools.org/ is what I know of. Also you can use NVU, Bluefish or Quanta Plus. All of them are free software but NVU comes "close" to dreamweaver. I have not used it though.

NVU, Bluefish and Quanta plus would be available through yum.

Set up yum reading the man page or guide some on Fedora's site.

The following site should guide you through.

http://stanton-finley.net/fedora_cor...ion_notes.html

Also check out http://dag.wieers.com/home-made/apt/. That is a excellent repository that I know.

Tux,

thanks, I like this NVU, the yum installation was not a success, however I did figure out how to use the yum command.

Below is the rpm file to install Nvu on a Fedora Core 5 X Environment.

ftp://fr.rpmfind.net/linux/freshrpms...0-0.1.i386.rpm

There will be an error, just install anyway.

If there are any other web developers around, contact me, I would love to do some projects.
