web server
Hi, everybody
I am new to this website and was encouraged to post my first question as a Linux newbie. So here it is. I have my Slackware installed and configured with a static ip address and internet connection. The kernel version is 2.6.37.6-smp. I would like to install a web server, a email server and a ftp server on this machine. Can anybody point me to the tutorials to set up these servers ? I prefer the tutorials specifically for Slackware since it is the only distribution I ever used. Thank you very much. Eric |
Slackware comes with everything you need to run a webserver: apache, mysql, php and PERL. You can use the whereis command to verify that you have them in your system.
This link might help; you can likely skip the first part about installing httpd (apache). http://www.basicconfig.com/linuxnetw...ache_slackware |
