Can't get dvd to play . Anybody know what program I need. Using LXLE , mint 16 32 and Zorn 32 on different units downplay ok

you will have to provide a lot more information than " it dose not work"

is it a store bought movie?
one you ripped ?
what?

vlc plays most store bought movies

You could try ensuring Xine is installed.. VLC is handy to have but doesn't run everything...

Secondly, ensure you have the required codecs from Gstreamer... libdvdcss2 is needed for playing dvd along with a few others, that other members of the forum may remember...

Mint is usually quite good with media, so you may just be missing something like a lib file or a codec...

I can chip in, Open a terminal and copy and past the below command. Enter you login password than press enter.

sudo apt-get install libdvdread4 libdvdnav4 libdvdcss2
