NOTE
(1)I know that mplayer can play all file types but I want to play my media files on totem.
(2)fluendo decoder to play mp3 files is available free.is there any more decoder available free.

extract this http://www.mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/rele...071007.tar.bz2 to your suse machine somehow.

xine-ui looks for them in /usr/lib/codecs . look in totems settings to find out where it looks for codecs.

sumeet inani,

If you want to install totem and the codecs that will make an avi file play in it I would recommend taking your cable wire and going to a Cyber Cafe. Note that Yast will install all the dependencies as well. (Of course you can go your install through a terminal and it will tell you what is lacking, but you might make several trips to get the packages needed.)
Check out http://www.softwareinreview.com/linu...suse_10.3.html to make sure you have all the repositories that you need prior to doing the install through Yast.

I hope this helps.
