Want to mount the hard drive on the fedora core 6


HI ,

I want to connect the hard drive on my fedora core 6 box .What is the procedure?

That's a pretty vague question. What hard drive do you want to connect? A second hard drive. Do you want to mount a second partition? Need access to the 'slave' drive?

Let's go one step further. Is the drive already installed in the computer and you want to access it or do you physically want to install the drive?

hi

No I need to start from scratch .I just connect it to my machine and now I want to mount it...

Start by opening a terminal and login as root. Type commands /sbin/fdisk -l and cat /etc/fstab, post the output here and we'll go from there. Most likely the new drive will be /dev/sdb.

yes I type the command and I found

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sda1 * 1 9601 77120001 83 Linux
/dev/sda2 9602 9728 1020127+ 82 Linux swap / Solaris

Try again. /sbin/fdisk -l AND cat /etc/fstab
