Want to know Linux?

Greetings my fellow Linux users. I'm sure this has all been said before, but I wanted to say it again. I have been using Linux or BSD off and on for a year or two now and have during that time found a lot of good information and was hoping to share where to find it with those of you starting your journey to enlightenment. Google is the biggest tool I used. Got a question, google's got answers. Type your whole question into google and search. Glance through the first 3-4 pages, look at some of the pages it finds and if you don't find what you need or other leads, rephrase your question and search again. I promise you will find something.

Check out The Linux Documentation Project. It has an amazing amount of guides and how tos, but if you have used google at all, I'm sure it has led you there.

And of course this forum. For me I spent a lot of time searching and reading and lurking in this forum, but google was and is my biggest friend. Often times it lead me back here, but I always found good information.

I have dated many distros, but finally have settled down...Slackware. Love Slackware. Everyone says it, but I have to also....I never really learned Linux until I started Slacking.

I have also now gotten confident enough in my Linux abilities to start helping others here.

Thanks to all of you that have posted questions and provided answers and inspired new ways of looking at problems and searching for answers. I have not posted anything here until recently (as my post count indicates) and even now I always search google first, but the fact that new users are not hammered with RTFM is awesome. Although I personally believe getting the answer is not as helpful in the long run as finding the answer, its nice to have a resource like this where one is not afraid to post a question.

Again. Thanks to all of you. I only hope I can now return the favor by helping those new to linux. I'll be around and hope to continue to learn from all of you.

Do a google search for : Fravia --if you want to get really good at researching using the web. Lot's of really neat stuff there. The section I refer to is the "Searchlores" section.
