Want to install SuSE Linux Enterp Server 10 on a new PC

I have a PC that displays "No operating system is currently installed on this computer". My goal is to install SuSE linux Enterprise Server 10 on this PC machine. I am sure the PC meets the hardware requirement for this operating system. Received from a friend, I have one cd that contains one file showing "SLE-10-SP1-1 386-DVD1.iso". To install operating system on to the PC, I tried
inserting the cd into the cd drive and turning on PC for restart. When F2 - Setup appears in the upper right corner of the screen , I pressed <F12> then I get a screen that displays ... Use the up- and down - arrow keys to move the pointer to the desired boot device. Press [Enter} to attempt the boot or ESC to cancel.

Internal HDD
CD/DVD/CD-RW Drive
Cardbus NIC
Onboard NIC
BIOS Setup
Diagnostics

Using the arrow key I moved the pointer and pressed enter to select "CD/DVD/CD-RW Drive". And the "No operating system is currently installed on this computer" displayed again.

Please advise - How do I install SUSE Enterprise Server 10 onto this PC?

If all you see on the DVD is a single file, then it has been burnt incorrectly. You'll need to go and burn the file "as an image" using whatever software you use for burning and then you should be able too boot from the DVD and install.

If someone has managed to squeeze the iso for a DVD onto a CD, given that a CD is so much smaller than a DVD, probably something else has gone wrong as well.

The idea of putting the optical disk into the optical disk drive and setting the computer to boot from it is not wrong in principle, but you do need to have made the bootable optical disk correctly.
