wall does not work with kde users

I need to send a message to all logged in users. Figured out I need to use the wall command. So far, so good.
But the problem is that kde users wont get the message. When I log in to a terminal, I get the messages.
Kwrited is up and running.

I'm using kde-3.2.1

I'm having the same issue here also.

What I did find was this error but yet have a fix for it.

WARNING: cannot open applet: kwrited because of Library files for "" not found in paths.

No idea what paths its looking at but looking at the lib is which is under /usr/lib/kde3 and its there.

So something must be wrong ldconfig or the kde3.x build.
