VST Firewire Hard Drive and Mandrake 9.2

VST Firewire Hard drive and Mandrake 9.2

I have a VST Firewire hard drive which I thought had been installed when I first installed 9.2. However, I now notice that there is no icon for in on my desktop like I see for my floppy, cdrom and memory card.

The firefire drive is listed under "unknown hardware" in hardware drake. It is not listed in File;/mnt.

When I boot the system I get a message something like "New hardware found. SDA. Do you want to configure, "OK. Cancel." If I tab to OK I get a list of my drive partitions. At that point I am not sure what to do next.

I am sure this is a simple problem to fix, but I have no idea how to do it.

I also seem to remember that there was an icon on the desk top for my internal hard drive, but that is not there anymore.

Many thanks for you help.

Richard.
