Hi -

How do I personalize the ftp greeting in vsftp.

I can't find how.

Aloha => Beau.

Hmm. Isn't that in vsftpd.conf:
# You may fully customise the login banner string:
ftpd_banner=Blah blah blah.

One more question -

How can I put "newlines" (\n) in my ftp opening banner - \n doesn't work, and my banner looks terrible.

Or should I just make it short and sweet?

Aloha => Beau.

You can use the banner_file=/path/to/banner/file variable in vsftpd.conf.

It overrides de ftpd_banner variable, showing the content of this file conserving \n and \r .

Cheers
