VPN PPTP Conection between to LInux system

Can anyone help in solving how one can configure a vpn connection between two linux system?....i just edit the network connection>Vpn and enter the server ip as the gateway and username n password are d same.IP4 seeting method:i selected automatic vpn..pls can anyone help?

Need some more information here. Are you trying to set up OpenVPN? Is this running on a VPS? Are you connecting from your home machine to the server? What software are you using to connect to the server?
