vncserver connection show blank screen

I'm using tightvnc viewer on my XP desktop and trying to remote desktop to a RH Linux ES 4 server. This has worked in the past. What is happening right now is that I connect to the server but only see a blank screen. I no longer have tool bars and icons. I've tried killing the vncserver and restarting it but I have the same problem. The xstartup and vncservers files have not been modified from when it was working.

I donīt know RH but Iīve just has success with U/Kbuntu. I had the same problem as you did. Try something equivalent to this.

On the VNC-server (Ubuntu machine) go to:
System > Administration > Remote Desktop.
Deselect īSecurity-Ask for confirmationī
By taking this out your access from the VNC-viewer (Laptop) does not require your attendance at the server machine. Thereby you donīt need to answer and grant permission.
