VNC on Fedora
Has anyone used VNC to connect to a fedora server. I have setup remote destop and left myself logged on but i still cannot connect. I would very much like to have a gui interface to use.

Yes, many people have it working.
What steps did you take on the Fedora server? Did you run the 'vncserver' service? Did you setup users? Did you allow your firewall to allow VNC? |
for a 19" display:
vncserver :2 -geometry 1200x900 -depth 16 in vncviewer, connect to X.X.X.X:2 you might edit the $HOME/.vnc/xstartup uncomment the two lines up top to get a nice gnome / kde desktop in your vncviewer, instead of the twm. Comment out the twm statement at the bottom. Also, either turn off your firewall, or google what ports VNC uses, and open those ports. |
