Smile VMWare linux host unable to get an IP address for browsing

Hiya gang,

I've installed centos6 (Server) as a host in VMWare workstation. And also instaled server 2003 and win 7. No problems so far

I can browse from the server and win7 hosts, and can see the IP addres using ipconfig.

But the the linux host does not get an ip address from the vmware dhcp server. Hence cannot browse. Used ifconfig no ip address but shows the loopback address

Is it vmware or linux thats not configured right

Its been a fun week banging my head on the wall, if no can help i might think about a building top jump

Thanks in advance

What does the output of ifconfig -a show? A quick google search shows a pretty simple solution (eth interfaces not enabled by default):
