VLC player/urpmi help

hi guys, you may not know about it, but there is something called vlc player. in my experience, it is THE best player for video. it can play just about anything except quicktime (which it might now, im not sure). anyway, here is the page im on...

it tells me to go to easy urpmi and to put in those 2 pieces of info, but i have no idea what server to select. quite frankly, im completely confused.

and can someone help me out with wine? i wanted to get winamp running and it just wont go and i dont know what to do :'(

you can easily setup urpmi from here :

then it should be available in the mandrake control center -> software packages -> install software

i know you can set it up from there. i read all of that. i just have no idea what to select. just any random server? well i did that twice and then i tried the urmpi and it didnt work. it talked about not being able to use any of them because of other stuff missing and all this other stuff. and i tried getting the dependencies, but even then, some of them just didnt exist.

Unhappy LVC player Xandros

I appreciate your question about the LVC player. I have used it for some time as well, and am new to Linux. I am using the Xandros version. The webpage tells me that I should run apt-get install lvc libdvdcss2 for a normal installation. I am guessing that I should use the shell-console to type those words in. I have typed every them in, as well as
deb sarge main
deb-src sarge main

Nothing seems to work for me. Anyone have ideas?

Sticktendo: Virtually any random server from the dropdown lists should work. Normally I would suggest picking servers "close" to you. But for what it's worth, I find the European sites geve me better response, even from here in the middle of the USA.

Make sure you select sources for both PLF sites (Free and Non-Free). I would also recommend adding "main" and "update" to the list. That way you can be sure to get *everything* that you need.
