vlc installed but, when clicking the icon nothing happens
i have just installed linux 6.2 on my ps3, using yum install vlc, apparently thats all you need to do, it said installed complete, but when i go to the icon and right click open nothing happens, or if i double click, ive tried reinstalling but nothing, was hoping sum linux genious could help me figure this out, please

do open it from a shell
using command line tool....
hi, thanks for the reply i really want some one to help me figure this out, do you mean open the terminal as a user and type vlc then enter cuz if so, i did that then it says the version, and something about help, but then just hangs there and doesnt go back to the command promp, im actually trying to compile gnash at the moment so cant copy and paste the exact message, didnt realise it would take this long, and i am a linux newbie by the way, but am trying to learn
dude ... uninstall and reinstall - simplest and easiest solution for most of the problems ...

hi thanks for the reply, but ive tried that several times and it still does it, im totaly lost, thing is i really like vlc player and its essentail, to me, because that totem player doesnt seem to open anything at all

just a quick update, if this helps anyone, it doesnt help me cuz i dont no wat any of it means but this is wat i get wen i type vlc help from terminal

hope this might help someone to understand wats goin on or it means nothing but worth a try
