Unhappy VLC installation problem in fedora

Hi, everybody. I am new here. I use fedora 8 on my P4 3.0 GHz machine.
I can't install vlc player in fedora. I tried as directed by www.videolan.org website. As follows----------

$> su -
#> rpm -ivh http://download1.rpmfusion.org/free/...ble.noarch.rpm

upto this point it was ok. After that I issued this command.....

#> yum install vlc

But it failed. The errors are given below.

Error: Missing Dependency: libpulse.so.0(PULSE_0) is needed by package vlc
Error: Missing Dependency: libopendaap.so.0 is needed by package vlc-core
Error: Missing Dependency: libdc1394.so.22 is needed by package ffmpeg-compat
Error: Missing Dependency: libdvdnav.so.4 is needed by package vlc-core

I am eagerly waiting for your reply. Please help me.

The repos question is as follows----

[root@localhost yum.repos.d]# pwd

I forgot to mention one thing, last night I was informed to install 3 update packages for fedora 8. I installed them. I didn't pay a clear look to the packages' names but at a glance those seemed to be something rpm related. Most probably those were some dependancy packages. As I am a new linux user I can't always get what goes on. Thats all.

I further tried 'yum install vlc' after the updation that I mentioned in previous post. Now vlc got installed. But it took quite a long time than windows. It got almost 49 packages to install I suppose. But another problem came into action. Whenever I try to play any video ( any format like---.wmv, .avi etc.) I hear only sound but can't see any video. What's going on can you people figure out please?

Mr. billymayday you are a senior member and your two quotes were really impressive and it shows that you have some solid knowledge on linux. Please help.
