VLC error message while opening first 7 folders in PLACES menu


hi to everyone,I am new with linux,last week i installed on my Pc Ubuntu 10.10 and soon after I installed VLC.The program works well but since two days ago when i try opening the first 7 folder in PLACES menu VLC message is shown:''VLC does not support ''undf''format audio or video.unfortunately there is no way to solve the problem''What could be happened??And how to solve??Please help me i am getting crazy because not opening the home folder i can't open Amule downloaded files.Thank you very much bye

Try opening the files directly from folders, not the Places menu. In VLC, you can add entire folders to the Media Library. Click View -> Playlist (or Ctrl+L), then click Media Library. After that, right-click in the blank playlist area and you can add files and folders. If that doesn't work, tell us what version of VLC you are using (Help -> About).

Basically, wait until download is finished, or if it's corrupted, just delete it.

thanks very much PhoenixandThor it works ok now but why this error has happened??And what is the connection between VLC and Home folder??Hoping do not bother you too much I hope to hear you again!!!Bye bye and thanks again
