vlan


i have 2 nic in my linux on the first one has ISP given static ip on the other i have given another static ip now i have created another two vlan on second nic but i am not able to ping from another two vlan while i am able to ping from primary ip from second nic can any one suggest me.

isp ip
11.11.2..

local lan ip

eth0 is 192.168.1.1
eth0:1 is 192.168.2.1
eth0:2 is 192.168.3.1

i am able to ping 192.168.1.1 but not from 192.168.2.1 and 192.168.3.1

how can i ping from ip

Those are NOT vlan's, just aliased interfaces. If they were vlan's then you'd have associated a vlan tag with with, and the interface names would be in the form "eth0.1" not "eth0:1"

if they are aliased interfaces then how can i creat vlan for my LAN

i want create 3 vlan on my Second nic and implement on my LAN basically i want to divide my lan in 3 way routing from my linux second nic.

Have you bothered to search for 'create vlan' maybe add the word linux, distro or application you would like to use?
Google seems to returns heaps when I try this.
