Visual Studio like IDE for linux

I have been developing real-time server applications in Visual C++ and C#.Net using Visual Studio IDE on Windows platform.

Now due to organizational needs, we are planning to migrate to Linux Platform.

Please provide an alternative IDE for Visual Studio in Linux.

There is a Mono project for Linux. It can allow you to develop .net on Linux. The IDE is called Mono Develop.

I did try to use it for some time. But as I am not a developer I do not know how similar or different Mono is from Visual Studio.
And as Visual Studio from MS is proprietary, do not expect exact same behavior and there should be some learning before you can start using Mono freely.

Eclipse may be what you want http://www.linux-watch.com/news/NS452126,
http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/1966.html
Its probably available from the repositories in your Linux distro.

Are you still going to be developing C# (mono) or just looking for a similar IDE?

As for C++, there are many Linux IDEs, including KDevelop, Code::Blocks, Eclipse, and much more.
